Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Shahriman Abu
Bakar
was born in year 1973. He attained his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
degree year 1997 from Mie University, Japan. Next, he completed his Masters in
Mechanical Engineering in year 2006 and accomplished his PhD. in year 2010,
both from his alma matter, Mie University, Japan. He is an established
researcher and academician at UniMAP with vast experience both in the industry
and in the academic field of system design. He has held the significant role of
an assistant manager in NEC Semiconductor (M) from year 1997 to year 2003,
whereby he supervised in the Machine Engineering Department. To pursue his
ambition as an academician, he joined UniMAP as a fellow in year 2003. His
dedication to his work opened doors for his promotion to a senior lecturer at UniMAP
in year 2010, where he also served as the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and
Alumni. As he continued working on more projects at UniMAP, he was promoted to
an Associate Professor in year 2014. Moreover, he is the mastermind and Leader
of Litar UniMAP (UNIMAP Racing Circuit), Modenas UniMAP Research Centre and
Automotive and Motorsport COE (MOTECH).
Overall, he has published numerous
high impact factor journals and written 5 book chapters. Throughout his service
at UniMAP, he has actively been involved in research and has graduated 5 PhD.
and 5 Master postgraduate students. He has also been invited as the keynote
speaker at various international lectures and as a guest speaker, they are (i)
Udayana University, Bali, Indonesia (ii) Institute of Technology Medan,
Indonesia (iii) Institute of Technology Bogor, Indonesia (iv) Mie University,
Japan (v) University of Sunderland, England (vi) Sri Ramakrishna Institute of
Technology, India and (vii) Universiti Sains Malaysia. He was an active
consultant at MARii (Automotive Experts), Proton Holdings, Aerospace Composite
Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Terengganu Safety Training Centre Sdn. Bhd., Kernaf
Technology Global Sdn. Bhd. and Sime Darby-UPM.
He is working closely with various
industrial partners and have signed several Memorandum of Agreement or
Memorandum of Understanding to form both industrial and academic partnerships.
His dynamic personality and involvement have earned him many awards both
locally and internationally, in categories like, management awards, research
and innovation awards, and, innovation awards. Over the course of the last 3
years, he has participated as an international innovation judge, accreditation
panel and a grand panel in various expos and competitions. He also has various
intellectual properties registered under his name, such as patents, industrial
designs and utility innovations. He has become a familiar face in some
community service initiatives that is aimed to aid the general public. In
addition to his academic and research contributions, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr.
Shahriman Abu Bakar is also an associate of several professional and industrial
memberships, namely, Institute of Engineer Malaysia (MIEM) (104150), Malaysian
Board of Technologist (PT17120014), My Auto Systema Sdn. Bhd., Society of Human
Factors Ergonomic Malaysia, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer

Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Nashrul Fazli Bin Mohd
Nasir has more than 16 years of experience in teaching, researching and in the
industry. He was a pioneering student in Biomedical Engineering from University
of Malaya (UM) and he received his B.Eng degree in year 2002. The following
year, he continued his M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering at Keele University
(Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire). Due to his keen interest in teaching, he
joined Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) as a tutor at the Biological and
Agricultural Engineering Department and Mechanical Engineering Department for a
year (2004-2005). In year 2005, he joined Kolej Universiti Kejuruteraan
Malaysia (KUKUM) and was a part of the initial academic staff affiliated with the
university’s Biomedical Electronic Engineering Program.
Later the following year until year
2008, he was appointed as the first Program Chairperson for the Biomedical Electronic
Engineering Program at UniMAP. Next, he embarked to pursue his PhD in the field
of Electrical and Computer Engineering from Royal Melbourne Institute of
Technology (RMIT) University, Melbourne Australia, which he completed in less
than 3 years (March 2010-January 2013). Subsequently, from September 2013 until
February 2019, he served as the Deputy Dean of Student’s Affair and Alumni at
the School of Mechatronic Engineering, UNIMAP. However, presently he is an
Associate Professor and the Head of Division (Medical Instrumentation).
His areas of interest are on the
application of natural resources from Malaysia’s biodiversity to fabricate tissue
engineering scaffold. His research was recognized publicly via the Malaysian
mainstream media (Utusan Malaysia, Berita Harian and Kosmo). Furthermore, apart
from close associations with his Alma matter (the RMIT University and Keele
University), he is also working closely with some out of the country academic affiliates
from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan. Not overlooking
his local collaborations with academicians from University of Malaya,
Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM),
International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and Multimedia Universiti
Malaysia (MMU).
During his service at UNIMAP, he has been
invited as a guest at a talk show called, NINE-11, Bernama TV (24th January
2019) to depict the history and future prospects of Biomedical Engineering in
Malaysia. Also, he is also dynamically involved with the Medical Device
Authority (MDA) in Malaysia, specifically for the upcoming assessment of
Biomedical Technical Personnel (BTP). In addition to his academic and research
contributions, A/P Dr. Nashrul is also a member of several professional
institutions, namely, Institution of Engineering and Technology (1100384977),
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer (93280863), Institute of Engineers
Malaysia (G27595), Malaysian Society for Engineering and Technology (MySET),
Malaysian Society of Medical and Biological Engineers, Malaysian Biomaterials

Ts. Erdy Sulino Bin Mohd Muslim Tan is a versatile academician with more than 12 years of teaching and coaching experience. He completed his diploma in Mechatronics Engineering from the Institute Teknikal Jepun Malaysia (JMTI) in year 2005. He went on and completed his degree in Mechatronics Engineering at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UNIMAP) in year 2008. After completing his degree, he went ahead and pursued his passion for teaching at the School of Diploma Studies in UNIMAP. In the year 2017, he completed his M.Sc. in Mechatronics Engineering at UNIMAP and sustained his position as a respected academician at UNIMAP.
During his teaching years at UNIMAP, he has actively participated and won medals in various competitions, both locally and internationally. He has also spearheaded numerous innovative researches and projects in the field of robotics and embedded systems. His noteworthy contribution was when he attained a gold medal at the Malaysia Teknologi Expo Covid-19 International Innovation Award 2021 for his project, ‘UV Light Mobile Robot for Sanitisation’. Throughout his service at UNIMAP, he was granted a significant number of excellence awards for his exceptional service and contributions.
In addition to his academic and research contributions, Ts.
